Women's wear using rags

sus.jpg

The collection is a functional women's work wear collection using rags and old waste clothing. I have tried to include the cutting wastage in the collection as well. I have made the collection to be sustainable and functional. II have also explored various textile techniques such as applique, patchwork, embroidery and natural dyeing to increase the functionality and the aesthetics of the collection. With the rapid growth of fast fashion depleting our environment at such a high rate, sustainable growth has been confirmed to be the solution. Hence, I have suggested ways to upcycle and reuse old fabric wastage. I have also suggested ways through which the cutting waste could be efficiently recycled and could be used for applique and patchwork. The collection is made to be felt comfortable in, functional and eco-friendly at the same time. I have included pockets in every single clothing, as most women’s clothing have lacked functional pockets. The clothing could be paired and styled in various ways and some pieces are reversible. This enables the client to experiment with styling the garments in different ways. The garments are suitable for all body types and for women of all ages. The blouses are buttoned up at front which could come in handy for women that are breastfeeding. I have used the software's Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator to sketch, render and map the garments.
